Willow House
Refurbishment and extension of a Grade II* listed modernist house, Cambridge
This project involved the restoration, alteration and extension of a Grade II* listed modernist house. It is a significant pre-war house in the International Style, built in 1932. Designed by George Checkley, it is one of the earliest houses in the UK to be influenced by the European Modern Movement.
The project restored the house and its grounds in sympathy with the original design, removing inappropriate additions and features, and addressing many of the constructional defects that had caused its physical decline.
